Reinstatement Request
Please review all of the information below regarding the reinstatement process for the San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (SADCR) before you make a decision to reinstate. We want to ensure all candidates are well informed of some key factors including knowing how personal behavior or choices you have made, or will be making, may impact whether or not you are eligible to become a peace officer again. To determine if you qualify for the position(s) in which you have interest, review the minimum qualifications. If you do not meet the minimum qualifications at the time you apply for a peace officer position, you will be disqualified.
Information
- Personnel who have completed their probationary period and training prior to their resignation are entitled according to State law to attempt a reinstatement to their former department and return to their previous duties, if such a position is still available at the time of the reinstatement request.
Any request will first be checked by the Office of Peace Officer Selection (OPOS) to see if the applicant still meets the basic requirements to be a peace officer or civilian employee for the Department.
After this process, the request is forwarded to the Hiring Authority and designees for deliberation, things that can be discussed include, but are not limited to:- Length of employment;
- Time since resignation;
- Disciplinary record;
- Previous performance reviews during employment.
- All former employees of the Department must meet these basic requirements in order to attempt reinstatement. Submitting a request without meeting these basic requirements will result in the request being denied.
- Must have a clean criminal record (infractions exempted) and not be involved with any illegal activity or group since their original employment.
- Must not have been permanently terminated or disqualified by another law enforcement agency.
- Must not have been removed twice from the Apprenticeship Program.
- Fourteen (14) days or more must have passed since the requesting party's resignation from the Department.
- Fourteen (14) days or more must have passed since any employment with another law enforcement agency.
- In addition to the basic requirements, the requesting party must also meet the following OOC requirements:
- Must have completed the Apprenticeship Program.
- Must not have transferred to another law enforcement agency within one (1) month of the reinstatement request.
- Former members who have been terminated on an OOC level need to wait at least twenty-eight (28) days before attempting reinstatement, to see if their position is still tenable within the faction.
- Reinstatement decisions are final. Former members that have been denied a reinstatement and regular recruitment must appeal this decision with Executive Staff.
